Founded in late 2014 in New York City, but conceptually in the works for over a decade, Olga Pastyrnak represents a new concept in today’s fashion environment. The brand’s raison d’etre is to provide modern women with a wardrobe that reflects both her strength and her beauty. With dresses and separates intelligently crafted not to detract from the woman, the brand can be described as the “anti-fashion” apparel brand, whose only concern is to create clothes that showcase the woman, and not the other way around. To this end, the brand focus is on simplicity, elegance, and a subtle sexiness.
“I create clothes that allow today’s modern women to dress for the best version of themselves. My goal is to engineer garments that are sharp, chic, and elegantly simple, so that one associates the woman with these characteristics as well, and allows her to best represent herself ” says designer and founder, Amanda Pastyrnak.
Originally from Boston, MA, Amanda has spent time living and studying in Spain and France, before pursuing a degree from Boston College. Although academically focused and on a political sciences track, her love of design and her philosophy on style and femininity pulled her to New York to attend Parsons School of Design. Upon graduation, Amanda worked in the fashion industry for a period while preparing to start the Olga Pastyrnak label.
